Dr. Lauren Claborn
Dr. Lauren Claborn grew up in Durant, Oklahoma and made the decision to pursue optometry as a senior in high school after being introduced to the profession by a family friend optometrist. She graduated from Durant High School and went on to earn a Bachelors degree in Biochemistry from Abilene Christian University. While in college, she worked with an optometrist and gained experience in the optical and as a technician. She then attended the Oklahoma College of Optometry where she had the privilege of working in the Cherokee Nation clinics providing state-of-the-art eye care to an under-served population. Students experience over 60,000 patient encounters each year. Dr. Claborn is thoroughly trained in ocular disease, specialty contact lenses, infants/pediatrics, vision therapy, and low vision. She also earned her Oklahoma Therapeutic Laser Certification which allowed her to perform laser eye procedures for the treatment of glaucoma and secondary cataracts in Oklahoma.
Dr. Claborn met her husband, Lance, while in college in Abilene and they have two young children, a boy and a girl. She has participated in several mission trips including one to Zambia, Africa to provide eye care to those in need.
Dr. Deborah Herron
Dr. Deborah Herron was born in Oklahoma City, but grew up in the West Plains Missouri. She attended Southwest Missouri State, majoring in Biology from 1976-1979. She moved to Memphis Tennessee in the fall of 1979 to start Optometry school at Southern College of Optometry. Dr. Herron was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society all four years. Before graduating in 1983 Dr. Herron completed externship in the areas of vision training, contact lenses and general practice optometry.Dr. Herron practiced briefly in Oklahoma City and Dallas before coming to Texoma in October 1987. Dr. Herron purchased Denison Optical from Dr. John Thomson. The Office was relocated after a fire in downtown Denison in 1989 to 319 W Main St. in June of 1999. Denison Optical was relocated into a new building on Morton Street where we are currently located.
Dr. Herron has been married to her husband Tracy for 34 years. They have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. She looks forward to many more years of serving the people of Texoma.
